About Rorya District Council
Rorya District officially came into existence on 01/07/2007 after being split from Tarime District. Before that, this District was the Rorya electoral constituency. The District is located in northern Tanzania between latitude 1o .00″ - 1 o 4.5″ South of the Equator and Longitude 33o. 30″ - 35o.00″ East of the Meridian. The District borders Kenya to the north, Tarime District to the east. Butiama and Musoma Districts to the south and Uganda to the west.
Rorya District has a total of 4 Divisions, 26 Wards, 87 Villages and 508 Subdistricts and 60,510 households with 24 Wards in the District Council and 87 Villages and Shirati Subdistrict Authority in 2 Wards and 9 Subdistricts.
According to the results of the 2022 population and housing census, the population is 354,490 (a total of Females and Males). This is an increase of 89,249 people compared to the 2012 Census, where the District Council had a population of 265,241 of which 126,247 (47%) were males and 138,994 (53%) were females.
The average population growth rate in Rorya District is 33.6 percent
The District has an area of 9,345.496 square kilometers, of which the water area (Lake Victoria) is 7,252 square kilometers, equivalent to 77.6% of the total area of the District. The land area is 2,093.496 square kilometers, equivalent to 22.4% of the total area of the District.
As a competent driver at Rorya District Council and Namtumbo District Council you be responsible for conducting the following duties.
- Inspecting the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle;
- Sending employees to various locations on business trips;
- Performing minor vehicle repairs;
- Collecting and distributing various documents;
- Filling in and maintaining all trip information in the trip log;
- Cleaning the vehicle; and
- Performing other duties as directed by his/her Supervisor.
- The applicant must have completed Form IV and obtained a Form IV Examination Certificate.
- You must have a Class ‘E’ or ‘C’ driving license with at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing an accident,
- You must posses a training certificates that qualified you to obtain the relevant classes
- You must have attended the Basic Driving Course provided by the Vocational Training Academy (VETA) or another institution recognized by the Government.
Your basic salary is TGS B
