In my capacity as a CCTV operator, I am tasked with ensuring the safety of every guest, employee, property, and asset within our establishment by fulfilling specific duties including:
  • Maintain constant surveillance of real-time camera feeds as well as archived recordings captured by security cameras deployed across all areas within your hotel property.
  • Strengthen your focus and vigilance as you monitor several video streams simultaneously.
  • Identify unusual behaviors, unapproved entries into systems, or incidents of data theft by contacting the Security Coordinator/Manager immediately.
  • Take necessary steps upon detecting occurrences; notify authorities when instructed by your supervisor.
  • Ensure comprehensive recording of every incident, observation, and action performed through the use of the CCTV journal and daily dispatch report.
  • Make sure every piece of surveillance camera works properly by contacting either the information technology team or the service provider if there's an issue.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and initial problem-solving for surveillance camera systems and their associated devices.
  • Collaborate openly with fellow guards and hotel staff regarding emergency situations for unified action in safeguarding guests' safety.
  • Collaborate on investigations involving footage and firsthand descriptions when legal permits allow it under national laws.
  • Observe all regulations concerning the deployment of monitoring devices in hotels and manage captured video data accordingly.
  • Make sure no unauthorized access can be made to any recorded information during monitoring sessions.
  • Ensure that access to the CCTV control center is limited exclusively to security staff and the general manager only.
  • To conduct an internal review, ensure that the video playback request has been sent to security prior to offering any comments.
  • Make sure every audio request pertains solely to hotel operations and authorization questions; reject all other individual queries.
  • Make sure every visitor's entry is documented including those who use roles like Integration Specialist or Information Technology personnel for their reasons.
  • It's crucially vital for nobody, even security personnel, to utilize their personal phones to capture footage of recordings.
  • Ensure that all records pertaining to significant events are preserved so they can be accessed in the future.

Required Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

Ideally, you would benefit most if you were trained in CCTV operations with prior experience, particularly within roles such as hotel security or related fields of security administration. Having additional credentials such as Certified Public Health Worker (CPHW), Basic Life Support Provider (BLS), Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), or first aid training is an invaluable asset. Mastering English proficiently through reading, writing, listening, and speaking is crucial alongside adhering strictly to safety protocols and operational continuously free from any deviations at every moment.
